In early December we had a massive ice storm. Massive! While it might look like snow, it's all pure, slippery ice! The boys ended up missing three days of school from this. Thank goodness this was over a weekend or else they would have missed five. Thankfully we only have to make up two of those three days!
Huge mound of ice that took forever to melt.
We took advantage of one of our ice days by decorating our gingerbread house.
This is serious work!
The boys ended up spending hours upon hours playing outside with all the neighborhood kids. Throwing a football to knock down the icicles and collecting them in the bucket kept them entertained for hours.
They would come in from time to time to warm up.
Day two- still solid ice!
Sarah got in some good play time with our neighbor, Jillian.
Since Sarah's preschool follows Frisco ISD and the boys are in Prosper ISD, Sarah had to go back to school on the third day that the boys had off. I ended up sending her and got to enjoy a little one-on-one time with my boys. We ended up going to the mall for a bit, it was Christmas season after all and I was feeling behind on my shopping at this point.
As a little treat to celebrate our special day together, I let the boys go to Build-A-Bear and build Rudolph. The only time we've been to Build-A-Bear was for birthday parties so this was a fun treat.
Rubbing the heart together. Although it certainly looks like they were praying over the heart. Lol!
Proudly sitting with their Rudolph. Thankfully there wasn't too much fighting over who got to hold Rudolph. Luke sure does love stuffed animals.
Baby girl sure loves the carousel.
Breakfast with Santa at our church.
Luke and Sarah cuddled up watching a little something.
And in true Texas weather, the week after the ice storm the temps warmed up quite a bit. We were delivering our Christmas cheer to the neighbors with Jacob in shorts.
Luke having a little playdate with his friend, Tyler.
Christmas haircuts!
Helping mommy in the kitchen!
We were also fortunate enough to have our annual Christmas get-together with our besties.
Sarah and Kaitlynn icing our cinnamon rolls one morning.
We took the kids to Jumpstreet Saturday morning. The kids had a great time and jumped their little hearts out.
All the kiddos together, just missing Andrew. In true girlie fashion, Kaitlynn and Sarah are hugging!
Sweet little friends!
Tough boys!
Tea cup ride!
Love these girls!
Cheers!
Trying to capture smiles on all these kiddos was no easy task!
Sitting with Uncle Jerry!
After the book exchange Sarah couldn't flip through her new princess book fast enough! :)
We ordered fajitas from Rosa's for dinner that night. Apparently they thought we needed flour tortillas to feed an army! Wow!
Kid's tables!
