Luke lately

Our sweet Luke has recently wrapped up school and Tball. He had a great first year in preschool and we are so thankful for his little school, his great teachers and his sweet friends he made over the year. At the end of April, they had a spring program which was as cute as you could imagine.

After the program they had a Family Fun night. Complete with a hot dog dinner, bounce houses, face painting and train rides.

The last day of school, they had a carnival to celebrate. Each classroom was set up as a different station and they had a great time playing all the different games. After the carnival they provided McDonalds for lunch and ice cream sundaes for dessert.

They then gave each child a basket full of summer items.

They were in heaven!

Big hugs for Mrs. Irene and Mrs. Rosio
We are so proud of you Luke!

Luke had his last Tball game the same day as his last day of school. While he said he liked playing and going to his games, his actions spoke much differently. He was the typical ball player who was digging in the dirt, looking at his glove, kicking the dirt etc. He preferred to stand and watch the others play. The one and only time he ran after a ball in the outfield and got it, he stood there not too sure what to do next. I saw another little boy take the ball from his glove and ran with it. After the game, I asked Luke why he let the other boy take the ball and he had this to say, "That other boy told me that I had to share and he started to cry and then he just took it." Oh that made me laugh!!
He wasn't too keen on the idea of playing catcher!

After the last game and time for trophies.

Luke was excited that this was his very first trophy and it had his name on it.

Not a good day for Sarah to wear white shorts!!

She loved checking it all out!

After Luke's game we decided to take the kids for a snow cone.  They loved it!

And of course it's all about the blue tongue!

We are so proud of our little Lukie! He's done so well this past year and has grown up quite a bit. But at the same time is still my little boy! Here's to a fun summer, spending lots of time with you Luke!

Update in pictures

I came across these pictures and realized I needed to post them for the memory book.

Our Goddaughter, Kate made her 1st Holy Communion back in April. It was such a sweet  day watching her take part in such a special part of the Mass.

Sarah warmed right up to Kate.

Love this picture!

We took a bike ride down to the pond to feed the ducks. They LOVE feeding the "ucks" as Sarah says.

My sweet girl!

This shopping cart makes the trip to Home Depot a little easier.

Can't seem to get enough pictures of our sweet girl!

The kids get SO excited when it's Donut Sunday at church.

Summer time is here!
I decided to do a little class, Kidokinetics, for the month of May with Sarah before the craziness of summer begins. A friend of mine and her little boy did it with us. Sarah has enjoyed it and loved having the time to run around and play.

She especially loved the parachute activities.  A little blurry but just look at that face.

More posts to come once we get through this week. Luke's last day of school is Thursday and Jacob's is Friday. They both have their last baseball/tball games this week and Jacob started swimming lessons this week as well. Whew...almost there!

Mother's Day Part II

The Thursday before Mother's Day, Luke's school had "Muffins with Mom". The kids were so sweet and so excited to give us their little gift they made us. Our very own bracelet. His teachers said they made it all by themselves, chose the color beads, the size of beads etc. Luke was so excited and has been asking me often if I have it on! Oh dear!

My sweet boy!

Jacob was home sick with strep throat so he was able to join us for the fun. Thankfully he was not contagious at this point and felt fine!

Two of his little friends, Brett and Corey. They are twins but you would never know it. They are different in every way!

His best buddy, Drew

On another note, Jacob brought home this sweet hand print for Mother's Day.

Along with this "All About Mom" questionnaire. I love these!

Here is what it says since the print is small:

My mom is 35 years old! (he nailed this one!)
She likes to play. (so glad he thinks this-lol)
The best thing she cooks is cookies. (oh yeah!)
Her favorite food is salad. (at least he didn't say cookies-lol)
Her favorite thing to do to relax is nap. (really?? I could only wish for a nap)
We like to make cookies together. (yes we do!!)
She is really good at carving a pumpkin. (I guess that Texas Rangers pumpkin we carved last Fall really made an impression!)
As you can see, my mom is special because she loves me. (aww, my sweet boy!)

Mother's Day Weekend

I really am SO far behind in my posts (and commenting). I'll start with Mother's Day last weekend. One of my cousins was graduating from college last weekend in Austin. We, along with many of the Eckels decided to head down for the celebration. Before the party on Saturday we had some time to spare so we headed down to the Capitol.

At one point Jacob said, "This is really nice Mom."  He seemed to be impressed with it all. While Luke and Sarah ran  around like they owned the place!

Having a snack on the lawn.

Sarah loved seeing all the friendly squirrels.

She had no fear and neither did they. She had a blast feeding them some of her snacks.

Boy- I think we wore them out!
After visiting the Capitol we headed to The Salt Lick BBQ restaurant where my cousin was having his graduation celebration. And for some strange reason I didn't take any pictures?? It was a fun place, huge, crowded and seems to have quite the reputation down there. The food was great and it was fun catching up with the all the family.

There was a Catholic church near our hotel so we all went to Mass Sunday morning then to Olive Garden afterwards for a Mother's Day lunch. It was fun to be all together and to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom and sisters. I didn't manage to get a picture with my kiddos. :( Sarah was ready for a nap and I knew trying to take pictures wasn't going to go well!

Hope you all had a blessed Mother's Day!
