Karate Kid

Jacob started his karate class today. It really was so cute and funny to watch all the kids. All of us moms were cracking up! There were about 7 kids in the class and boy do the coaches have their work cut out for them! haha! It is very structured and teaches great discipline, motor skills and confidence, so they say! I think this type of activity will fit Jacob's personality very well!

Stretching to warm up- Jacob is in the gray shirt and khaki shorts- 2nd from right

More stretching- in the middle

Learning the correct way to sit- 3rd from the left

Learning how to bow-2nd from right

Learning the arm positions

Slithering across the floor like a snake, apparently to build strength. One boy stopped, stood up and said "this is too hard!" It looked hard!

It's as if he's saying, "Mom don't take my picture, how embarrassing!" I dread the day when that comes.

Look at that form, haha!

  1. OK. You seriously have to get some video footage of this! How fun! Jacob looks like he's got the best form in the class - I love it. I think this sport gives people such confidence. I'm so excited for Jacob and I hope he really likes it.

  2. Jacob is all over that!!! I think he has the best form, too!! And, Amanda is right, you do need some video footage. Kudos to you and Jim for signing him up. Self-discipline, confidence and physical activity... good.

  3. Love it! I think Jacob will be a natural and will really enjoy it. I can't wait to see him in the cute karate outfit, too (can't remember what they call those)!

  4. OMG! That is too precious. He looks like he was having so much fun. I LOVE all of the little poses. Tell Jacob his Aunt Dana wants to see some of his cool moves the next time I see him.

  5. Too cute for words! I hope he doesn't start going around the house karate chopping everything that gets in his way! :)
