To me, one of the most important times in our day is sitting down all together at the dinner table. Not because of the food (sadly our dinner menu isn't that great, haha) but because of sitting down together as a family. Recently we decided to really take advantage of this time and turn the TV off, talk about our day and read from a preschool daily devotional. So, we each go around and talk about our day and say what we are the most thankful for from the day. (we obviously get to guess what Luke might want to say). Jacob has really started to like doing this and here is what he had to say tonight...
"I'm thankful for like 3 or 5 things. First I got my favorite drink at Sonic, Ocean Water. Then we got to see Aunt Rhonda and baby Emily today at the mall. And that I got to play at the mall. Oh and I know what else...I got to see God and Jesus today." I say, "oh and where did you see them?" And he said "In my heart". Is that not so sweet!
Oh, Katherine! What a sweet story from Jacob! I just love the things they say and how their precious minds work. And the dinner time tradition you are starting is such a wonderful thing for your family. We try to do the same thing when all 6 of us are here and it gets harder and harder the older the kids get, so keep it up as long as possible!
ReplyDeletePRECIOUS! Absolutely precious! Almost brought a tear to my eye. Oh, I can't wait to see your little angels and get lots and lots and lots of hugs this weekend. Maybe we can do "best part of your day" conversation when we have dinner here. SOOOO excited to see you guys! Love you!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, Katherine! Jacobs conversation just brought tears to my eyes! How wonderfully, wonderfully sweet! It is great that you are making this a lifestyle for your children. Kudos to the Webb Family!
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a sweet boy. And I love that you guys get to predict what Luke would say. So cute. I'm glad he got to see Jesus and God and was able to drink his favorite Sonic drink!
ReplyDeleteI know you and Lauri have said how exhausting it is when they talk non-stop but those cute little comments probably make it a little easier!
Okay, that made me tear up!! What a sweet little nephew I have!
ReplyDeleteAww, that made me teary too! I love when you post little sweet things that the kids say and do! :*)
