New Year's Eve

Like our Christmas tradition of going to my Grandpa's each Christmas day, we do the same for New Year's Eve. For as long as I can remember we have gone to Rusk for New Years. We eat LOTS of food, play games, have a countdown and watch the firework show that my dad and uncles put on. I have only missed two of these parties. One year in high school where I was "too cool" to go to a "family" party and last year when Luke and I were both sick so we decided not to go. The Eckel family is all about tradition and it has made for some fun memories...

A picture of all the cousins that were there this year and Grandpa

My Dad with his siblings and Grandpa. Although one brother is missing.

All the "girls" that were there. Includes cousins, aunts, cousins wives etc...

All the "boys" that were there. Includes cousins, uncles, cousins husbands etc...

  1. I LOVE your family's many traditions. Makes my heart all warm and happy. That is a really good looking family!!

PS I love your new template, too!

  2. What fun! I have to admit, I went to bed at 8 pm on New Years so at least I know you were partying it up for the rest of us! Ha! Love the pics with the whole clan, so neat!

  3. Looks like you guys had tons of fun. I remember attending one of these celebrations when we were in high school. :-) I can't believe how old all the cousins are! I remember when they were all little!!!

  4. I've always loved the traditions that the Eckel family has. Seems like you guys really know how to have fun together.

Amazingly Jerry and I did make it up to midnight - one o'clock even. But with absolutely no fan-fare or hoopla whatsoever. We're complete duds. We could learn a thing or two from the Eckels. =)

  5. Oh I love these pics! That's fun that everything was held in the garage this year - probably a lot more room! Such great family pics! It sure was hard not ringing in the new year with you guys! Love you!
