Only at Grandma and Grandpa's house

There are just some things that the kids can get away with only at Grandma and Grandpa's house. For example, only at Grandma and Grandpa's does baby girl get an Oreo cookie.

Only at Grandma and Grandpa's house do the kids get to ride all over in the motorized cars. Sarah got her first ride and she loved it. She was all smiles and of course all she wanted to do was stand up!

And off they go. Luke was being the protective brother by putting his arm around Sarah. Mainly because I told him to hold on to her, but still it's cute! :)

Only at Grandma and Grandpa's do we play outside when it is 100+ degrees!

But thankfully, they have the very popular water slide that keeps all the kiddos cool! Only at Grandma and Grandpa's! Sarah had her eyes fixed on where she really wanted to be! :)

Only at Grandma and Grandpa's do they get to feed the donkeys.

Only at Grandma and Grandpa's do we all get fresh fruit and veggies from the garden. The cantaloupe and tomatoes were my favorite! Oh and only at Grandma and Grandpa's do the kids get to play with a dog...Abby, who belongs to the neighbor spends a lot of time at my parent's house when we are all there and outside.

Only and ONLY at Grandma and Grandpa's do the kids get to retrieve the frisbees that were accidentally thrown onto the roof of Grandpa's shop. Grandpa's idea of course! :)

Only at Grandma and Grandpa's do we get to do fireworks in celebration of July 4th!

Hmmm, I guess there is a reason Grandma bought the grandkids this shirt. :)

As usual, a good time was had by all! We all leave there exhausted, well fed and ready to go back! Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun 4th of July weekend! (I know this post is a little late...better late than never, right?) :-)

  3. Can you please, pretty please sign me up for a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's? Looks like there are plenty of fun things to do that you just couldn't get away with at home with mom and dad. Those are the best memories, aren't they?

And I can't believe that Sarah-bear has started walking!!! Watch out Jacob and Lukie - here she comes!

  4. I LOVE this post, Katherine! You have captured the essence of Grandma and Grandpa with their sweet little grandkids. Isn't it SO true that they can get away with ANYTHING at their house?? And then they send 'em home to us to clean up the mess, hahah!

I am LOVING Miss Sarah's swimsuit! Oh my goodness, it is such a fashion statement on her! I can't believe how much her hair is growing in. It has really changed her appearance!

PS - Sign me up for a trip to G&G's house, too! Could you imagine if all our kids came over?! Chaos!! :-)

  5. aww, fun times at Gma's and Gpa's! Love that pic of Sarah standing in the kiddie pool looking at the big pool. :)

Let's hope by the time Joseph is bigger that Grandpa no longer has the kids fetching frisbees off the shop roof. EEEEK! :P

  6. Jackson and Ryan want to come to Grandma and Grandpa's house too! Looks like tons of fun was had by all! I think they need two more boys, don't you? haha

Last time we were at my moms I walked in and Jackson said, "look." He was showing me a piece of chocolate (at like 8:00 in the morning.) My mom told Jackson, "shhh, you weren't supposed to show it to your mom!"

  7. That's why kids love to stay at their grandparents' house: because sky's the limit for what they can do! Hey, Getting the kids on the roof is dangerous. You have to keep an eye on them because they might do something that would put them in harm's way.

  8. Oh my, that's quite dangerous for the kids, Katherine. Frank's right. Make sure that you keep an eye on them if you or have someone watch over them while they're on the roof. Anyway, I'm glad the grandparents had a wonderful time with the kids.
