San Diego, Part 1

Let's take a step back into 2013, shall we. Let's go back to mid-July...we had a WONDERFUL week in southern California. Wednesday-Saturday in San Diego and Sunday-Wednesday in Anaheim at Disneyland. Jim earned the trip to San Diego for us through his amazing hard work at Edward Jones. We extended the trip and added on Disneyland and had a wonderful time there as well.

There is something so fun to the kids about riding the shuttle bus from the parking lot to the airport. No car seats, I suppose!

Miss Sarah had fun pulling her princess backpack.

Ready for take-off!

Although I will say she didn't pull it for long before she wanted me to carry it. :)

Look at all those suitcases! Packing for five people for seven days for an airplane trip was no easy task!

Waiting to get our rental car.

Our hotel, the historic Hotel Del Coronado. Built in 1888. Such a beautiful place and an amazing treat to get to stay there.

Exploring the grounds of the hotel.

The beachfront view from our room. Again, such a nice treat.

The near-by Naval base ran flight drills throughout the days while we were there. So fun to watch.

Once we got settled in our room, we rented a bicycle for the family and were able to explore our hotel and the surrounding areas. Lots of leg work for mommy and daddy but worth it.

We stopped along the way and took pictures while we rested our legs! :)

Love this picture!

A view of the pool.

Another view of the hotel.

We took a little walk along the beach.

The ocean water was freezing so thankfully the kids wanted no part of swimming!

On our way to dinner. The first night is always a welcome dinner provided by Jones. Another nice treat.

We were fortunate enough to meet up with our friends Troy, Kristine, Max and Charlie on this trip. Jim and I met them when we went to Cabo on an Edward Jones trip. At the time, Jacob was five months old and Max was one. This trip was our fourth trip together. They live in Minnesota so it's been such fun meeting up every few years on these trips.
