Six years old

How is it possible that I have a six year old? Please tell me. Seems just like yesterday that I was holding this precious baby.

And today, my sweet six year old!

I am so proud of my sweet boy. Jacob is a happy, well-adjusted, energetic, lovable, enthusiastic, kind hearted, rule following, cautious, sweet precious boy. (if I might say so myself). He made me a mother six years ago and I have never been happier.

Jacob is doing awesome in Kindergarten. I have received some great feedback from his teacher and it's been so fun watching him transition into school. He is always eager to go in the mornings and has made some sweet friends with the other kids in class. I've been able to volunteer in his classroom on Thursdays (when Luke is in school and Sarah tags along). It's been fun seeing him in action in class and interacting with the other kids.

He is loving soccer and I love how much exercise he gets while playing. He runs his little heart out and puts forth so much effort. We have signed him up to play basketball this winter. When I asked him if he was interested in playing basketball he immediately said "YES". I'm anxious to see what he thinks about it and I'm sure the games will be very entertaining, to say the least!

He has started Faith Formation (Sunday school) at our church this year. He goes on Thursdays after school and he has really seemed to enjoy it. I love that he is learning more about our faith and the Catholic church.

This morning started off with his request for donuts.

Then onto gifts.

After school today he has Faith Formation, then soccer pictures then a soccer game so we celebrated this morning. Oh and it's "wear your pj's to school" today so a little fun thing to do on his birthday.

Happy Birthday to you my sweet Jacob! You are a joy to our family and I am blessed to be your mother! I love you more than you will ever know! Hugs and kisses to you my angel!

  1. There is just something about that firstborn child that will never go away. I'm still trying to figure it out myself. Maybe because he is the one that made you a Mommy. It's just so special. Jacob is so grown up (sniff sniff) and turning into such a wonderful young man. I can't believe I just used the words "young man" to describe Jacob. What is happening?? LOL!

Happy Birthday, Jacob! We love you so much and hope that your day is as special as you are. Can't wait to see you later this year. Love and miss you!!! Love, Connor and The Courtrights

  2. October 6 will never pass without the memory of being there the night he was born. It is one of the memories I cherish most. It truly is so hard to believe he turned six today. They're all growing up way too fast! Please give hugs and loves to that precious (will always be your baby) boy of yours. Love you all.

  4. Happy birthday to my sweet punkin bear! It is so neat to see those old pictures of when he was so tiny and it's hard to believe that was 6 years ago!! I'm so proud of him for how sweet of a boy he is and how he is doing so great in school and his activities.

    Love you sweet Jacob!
