Last Fall, we won the silent auction bid for a night at the Great Wolf Lodge. We were able to redeem our certificate the Saturday before the kids went back to school from the Christmas break. It was a last minute decision on our part so we decided to surprise the kids. I secretly packed our bags and loaded the car while Jim kept the kids occupied. We told them we were going to Grapevine to the Bass Pro Shop, since it was near the Great Wolf. We had to come up with something. :) We pulled into the parking lot and the boys both asked with excitement "Are we going to the Great Wolf Lodge?" They were beyond thrilled when we told them YES! It was a fun way to surprise them and a fun way to end the Christmas break.
