Thankfully Thursday morning Jim felt better so after breakfast we took a short walk to Pigeon Island. Pigeon Island is a national park with ruins of old military bases that were used during the fight for the island of St. Lucia between the French and the British. The views were amazing!
We had a huge hike up the hill and the kids were troopers. Up, up and up! |
We made it! Just look at that view! |
Sitting on one of the old cannons. |
Making our way back down. |
Resting along the way. One of the employees at our resort went with us as a tour guide.
|
Luke loves bugs, insects of all kinds. He found several creatures along the way and put them in an empty water bottle to keep. |
Later that afternoon we decided to take a boat/sunset tour of the island. It was fun seeing the island from the water and all the different little towns and beaches along the shoreline.
Ready to leave. Shortly after we got going, the motion and sound from the boat put all three kids to sleep. They needed a little rest! |
Our captains knew just the right stops for some good snorkeling. We saw some amazing fish! The boys loved it as well. |
The captains decided to cast a few fishing lines while we were moving. Every time they had a bite on the line they would let the kids have a turn reeling it in. They loved it. |
One of the catches. And another. |
And another. |
The kids loved fishing. They anxiously awaited the next bite.. |
We saw some beautiful sights along the way.
These guys were fishing with nets. That's one way to do it.
These are the famous Piton mountains on the island. We got to watch the sunset on the way back. |
What fun!! So cute the kids all fell asleep on the boat! Such great shots from pigeon forge too!
