St Lucia Part 2

Jim, my dad and I started off Tuesday morning with a zipline tour through the rainforest.  Fairly certain this was one of the highlights of the week! None of us had been before so we weren't sure what to expect but we loved it! My mom didn't have an interest in going so she happily stayed back with the kids. There were twelve ziplines on this tour and it took about an hour and a half to finish. Such a fun experience!

Scenery on the bus ride there.

They had signs like this posted at each platform.

All geared up and ready to go.

Coming into the platform.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach. We had another Edward Jones dinner that night and I'm always impressed with the efforts they go through to make it just right. Apparently St. Lucia has an annual Carnival celebration mid-July so the dinner decorations were themed for that.

Live music for the night.

And since we were dressed up we decided to take a few pictures on the beach.

And of course face painting was involved and my kids were all over it.

Although Luke and Jacob opted for a dragon and a crab on their hand. They've never been ones for the painting on their face.

These fire dancers were quite entertaining. All the kids sat right up front for a close view.
Then they all got a turn to do the limbo.

On Wednesday, Jim and my dad headed out first thing for a deep sea fishing trip. They had a great time and ended up catching a barracuda and a tuna. They got back around lunch time and found out that one of the restaurants at the resort would cook the fish for you. You can't get any more fresh than that. I personally don't like fish but this was amazing. It didn't taste fishy at all and had great flavor.

Showing his catch of the day- tuna!

And Jim's barracuda.

Fresh fish for lunch.

So yummy!

One of our visits to the fruit man.

The kids loved the coconut too and Luke especially loved the little bananas.

The kids wore their goggles and enjoyed watching all the little fish swimming.

Later that afternoon, Mom and I decided we needed to take a trip into Rodney Bay and do some soveniour shopping. We took a cab and found just want we were looking for. Thankfully we felt safe enough to do this on our own. We were pleasantly surprised all week at how safe we felt and how nice and friendly the local people were.

Buying some goodies.

While we were gone, Jim started not feeling well so he, Luke and Sarah went back to the room and took a much needed nap. Luke and Sarah were worn out from all the fun so they needed to catch up as well. Jacob and my dad stayed down at the pool and had a fun afternoon together.

Once everyone woke up they enjoyed a little hot tub time.

Jim still wasn't feeling well and ended up running a fever all night so he stayed in bed the rest of the day. The rest of us went back into town for dinner to a tapas bar.
