Change

We moved the weekend before Easter and are slowly but surely getting settled. We had a great moving day, nothing was damaged and everything went very smoothly. Which we are thankful for. We moved on a Saturday and on Sunday we went back to the "old house" as Jacob says to clean it before handing over the keys. I wasn't there on Saturday when the movers finished loading up the last few things so I hadn't seen the house empty. And I have to say it took my breath away when I first walked in and again when we were done and were leaving for the last time. We have a lot of memories in that house...the first house Jim and I bought, brought 2 kids home there, all the birthday parties, baptism parties and friend dinners, one of my greatest friends living right behind the alley way, and the list goes on. We were there for about an hour cleaning and then walked through, took pictures and said goodbye. I was glad when we finally did leave although I'm thankful we had that time there to "close the door" on that chapter in our life's.

The boys literally ran around for the hour that we were there. They had no toys with them but somehow kept themselves busy the whole time. There is something appealing to kids about playing in a vacant house.

I have to say once we left the house and started driving back towards Prosper, the sad feelings were much lighter. While we will always keep the memories on Mustang Drive dear to our hearts, we LOVE our new house, LOVE our new neighborhood, LOVE living in Prosper and close to all that Frisco has to offer. We are planning to join the Catholic church in Frisco which is less than 10 minutes from our house and are excited to get involved there. We couldn't be happier with our move and are looking forward to putting our roots down here and getting settled and established.

Here are a few pictures of the house for now, sans decorations but that will come soon, actually probably later than sooner! haha

We had a media cabinet built for our TV to fill in that large cut out in the living room. It is built and they are finishing the paint work and will glaze it tomorrow. They will hopefully install it on Friday and I will be sure to post an update then. I'll be ready to get this in and therefore get our office desk back and moved to the office.

The boy's room. We are getting twin beds from Kristina in May and I'm looking forward to getting them set up in their new beds. It will be a big transition but I think will be a perfect set up for them. The bed in their room now will go to the guest room. I'm so excited to have an actual guest room again.

The nursery. Everyone keeps asking me if I know how I'm going to decorate the nursery. Honestly, I have NO idea! I know we've been a little busy to start thinking about decorating, especially for a GIRL! I have to totally switch gears and actually open my eyes to the pink side of the stores now!

The formal dining

Tune in soon for a post from Jacob's first T-ball game. I told you I had a lot to catch you up on! :)

  1. Wow! It is a little sad to leave a place where so many memories were born, isn't it? I am so glad that the new house, neighborhood, city are all that you were looking for - it delights my heart to hear that. And I am on pins and needles to see it all in person this summer!

The paint color in the LR/Kitchen are beautiful with your furniture. Don't you just love it when something turns out just like you had hoped?

I sure do miss you guys. Hugs to the boys for me. Love you.

  5. Your new house is PERFECT! Even without stuff on the walls I thought it looked great - mainly because the paint color was so nice. You guys are going to create such great memories in this new house. But I totally understand the love of the first house. It was very special and lots of wonderful things happened there. You guys will always love that house and when you are in the area you can take the boys back by the house to see it and smile.
